A Calmer First Morning

Small changes the night before make the first morning of school feel far less chaotic.

Lay out clothes, pack the backpack, and prep lunch the night before the first day. Do a full dry run of the morning routine a few days ahead so any snags -- a missing shoe, a forgotten form -- show up before it counts. Leave a few extra minutes of buffer time on day one; new routines always take a little longer than expected.
